About me

I am a multi-disciplined designer with a focus on UX Research and Design. Having a background in marketing and science, I love solving problems and improving the lives of others through design.

I am a thinker, learner, and creator. Driven by curiosity, I have gone through quite a journey from science and business to now the creative field. It was a journey of self-exploration and an irreplaceable experience of gaining sales, marketing, visual design, and analytical skills in the banking, real estate, and healthcare industries. In the past, I wore different hats and helped businesses to build their brand identities and grow with metrics.

Now shifting to UX Research and Design, I am super excited to bring forward my past skills and experience to this new adventure!

My Values

Start with Why

A design problem is a business problem. More important than the process and result is the purpose. This is why I tackle problems like peeling an onion: ask "why" 6 times to get to the core of problems.
"People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it." - Simon Sinek

Lifelong Learning

Great design is more than aesthetics, it revolves around a broad spectrum of knowledge: psychology, philosophy, marketing, and history etc. Learning energizes me and I am always looking at ways to challenge and improve myself.
"Studying is like sailing against the current: a boat must forge ahead or it will be swept downstream." - Chinese Proverb

Stay Humble

The more I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know. While I'm confident of my abilities and skills, I believe a humble heart goes a long way, which keeps me motivated and constant learning.
"Be like the bamboo. The higher you grow, the deeper you bow." - Chinese Proverb

Power of Balance

The universe is all about balance: the Earth's axis is tilted right at 23.5° so we have four seasons; the equilibrium in the climate system; the balance between solar (yang) and lunar (yin) energy......And I believe the same goes in design in finding the fine balance between profits and ethics, aesthetics and functionality.
"Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." - Bruce Lee
